Increasing youth participation in science with PLOS

DTH-Lab works in partnership with PLOS to increase youth participation in science

Public Library of Science (PLOS) is a nonprofit, open access publisher empowering researchers to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication.

In 2024, PLOS and DTH-Lab formed a strategic partnership in order to increase youth participation in science.

This collaboration has included:

  • mentorship opportunities, including opportunities to serve as reviewers on articles to demystify the editorial review process.
  • amplifying youth voices in scientific publishing and building a body of research in digital citizenship for health with a mini-collection published in PLOS Digital Health in October 2025.
